Gary Graham, famous for starring in shows such as Alien Nation and Star Trek, died on Monday at the age of 73. Susan Lavelle, the actor’s former wife, shared the devastating news on Facebook. In a tribute, she penned, “It is with deep profound sadness to say that Gary Graham, my ex husband, amazing actor and father of our beautiful only child together, Haylee Graham, has passed away today.”
Lavelle said she, her daughter, and Graham’s wife of nearly 25 years, Becky, were heartbroken by the unexpected demise. She also mentioned that Becky was by his side when he passed away.
Becky later affirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Graham died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Spokane, Washington.
Graham, who was born in Long Beach, California, on June 6, 1950, made his acting debut in the 1975 movie Lost on Paradise Island. His career progressed with major television roles in Moonlighting, Knots Landing, The Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky and Hutch, Eight is Enough and Starsky and Hutch. These roles made the way for his big break as a co-star in the hit TV show Alien Nation.
Graham’s multi-year role as Vulcan Ambassador Soval on Star Trek: Enterprise, which aired from 2001 to 2005, is one of his most remarkable career milestones. Graham also starred in the Star Trek: Voyager episode Cold Fire before joining Enterprise.
