Gautam Adani beats Mukesh Ambani in Hurun India Rich list 2024

Gautam Adani, worth ₹11.6 lakh crore, beats Mukesh Ambani to lead the 2024 Hurun India rich list. According to Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher at Hurun India, “India is emerging as Asia’s wealth creation engine!” Last year, a new billionaire was created every five days.

While China’s number of billionaires fell by 25%, India’s number increased by 29%, reaching a record 334 billionaires. The Ambani family now owns the most expensive family company in the country, worth ₹25.75 lakh crore, according to the report. The Bajaj family ranks second at ₹7.13 lakh crore, while the Birlas are third worth ₹5.39 lakh crore.

The Adani family is valued at ₹15.44 lakh crore, but as a first-generation family, they are not included in the main list. Adanis is the first-generation family having strong second-generation individuals, whereas Serum’s Poonawalla family comes in second with a firm worth ₹2.37 lakh crore.

Kaivalya Vohra, a 21 year entrepreneur of Zepto is the youngest on the 2024 Hurun India rich list, with his co-founder Aadit Palicha, 22 year, ranking second. Shahrukh Khan also made his debut for the first time on the list as the value of his IPL assets in the Kolkata Knight Riders rose. In just one year, Hurun India Rich Listers from the entertainment business added ₹40,500 crores, with seven new recruits joining.
