Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has launched a digital film honouring the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, emphasising that disability inclusion is essential and integral to its work culture. The film features employees with disabilities at GCPL’s accessible greenfield factory in Tamil Nadu and showcases their roles and capabilities.
Footage depicts ISL interactions, accessible setups and team collaboration, reflecting GCPL’s approach to equitable workplace design. CEO Sudhir Sitapati said GCPL has strengthened PwD hiring and is expanding its inclusion efforts externally via sensory consumer panels and partnerships with disability-sector organisations. He stated that products must be designed keeping the needs of PwD and other underserved groups in mind.
Global HR Head Vaibhav Ram said GCPL currently has around 1% PwD representation and is working to broaden participation across roles. The film also aligns with GCPL’s launch of the ‘Work That Includes’ Toolkit with Atypical Advantage and Integrative Solutions to support broader corporate adoption of disability inclusion.
The company said its inclusion journey also spans women, LGBTQIA+ employees and additional communities. GCPL’s factories at Malanpur and Chengalpattu demonstrate accessible infrastructure, ISL tools, training and job mapping. GCPL reaffirmed that disability inclusion is an ongoing process covering recruitment, workplace design, skilling and product development.
