On July 18, the news of Gigi had been freed after being detained for marijuana possession while on vacation with her companions in the Cayman Islands quickly spread over the Internet. On July 10, the supermodel was detained at the Owen Roberts International Airport as she was departing on an all-girls trip to the Cayman Islands, according to eonline.com.
The majority of the photos in Gigi’s most recent Instagram post, which she also shared on Tuesday, come from her vacation. The woman and her buddy can be seen relaxing by the sea in the first post’s video. Gigi displayed her flawless body in a vivid yellow bikini for the second picture. Shortly after Hadid and her friend landed on a private plane, according to the local publication Cayman Marl Road, customs agents allegedly discovered “marijuana and equipment used for its consumption” in their luggage. The outlet adds that after being detained at the Prisoner Detention Centre, Hadid and her friend were later hauled into custody and freed on bail.
According to Cayman Marl Road, Hadid and her friend were officially prosecuted on July 12 during a court appearance. They pleaded guilty and were each fined $1,000. They are not currently being prosecuted. According to her representative, “Gigi was travelling with marijuana that she legally purchased from NYC with a medical licence.”
