At the 2025 Golden Globes, Glen Powell shared a special moment with Maxwell Braunstein, the winner of his look-alike contest. The actor, who was attending the event with his mom, was excited to finally meet the man who had been named his doppelganger. When they met, Powell couldn’t help but smile, snapping a picture with Braunstein and joking that he was “happy to finally have a brother.” Braunstein won the look-alike competition on November 24 in Texas, which had people eager to see if he really looked like the Top Gun: Maverick star.
While Powell was walking the red carpet, the two locked eyes, and in an instant, Powell ran over to meet his look-alike. The pair shared a warm hug and had a quick conversation. A video of the moment surfaced online, with Powell exclaiming, “Oh, look who’s here!” before happily approaching Braunstein.
In terms of style, Powell looked sharp in a black suit with a chain, while Braunstein wore a white shirt and a blue blazer. The two even had matching sunglasses, making their resemblance even more uncanny.
Powell’s mother, Cyndy Powell, was also there and had a chance to meet Braunstein, whom she had previously declared the winner of the contest. As they chatted, Braunstein joked to Powell, saying, “Blessed that your mother thinks I’m anything like ya.”
During an interview, Powell couldn’t stop praising his look-alike, calling him “such a great guy” and adding, “He’s part of the family now. I finally have a brother!”
Aside from Braunstein, another look-alike contest winner, Miles Mitchell (who resembled Timothée Chalamet), was also at the Golden Globes. He posed for a picture with Braunstein, and the two held up a sign that read, “I won a lookalike contest and now I’m at the Golden Globes.”
On the career front, Powell had a busy year, starring in two major films, Hit Man and Twisters. With a packed slate of upcoming projects in 2025, fans are eager to see him back on the big screen soon.
