Gold prices fell by more than Rs 11,000

Gold prices closed at the highest level of Rs. 57,008 per 10 gram on August 7, 2020. Since then, the price of the yellow metal has fallen by 11,409 till February 26, 2021. Silver was at Rs. 77,840 per kg on August 7, 2020, which has gone down by Rs. 10,421 to Rs. 67,419 on Friday.

When the Union Budget was presented on 1 February 2021, gold on MCX was closed at Rs 48394 per 10 grams as compared to today when gold prices are is at Rs 45995 per 10 grams, making the yellow metal cheaper by Rs 2400 per 10 grams in just 19 days. Considering gold prices from January 1, 2021, gold has become cheaper by Rs 4200.

The gold price was quoting at Rs. 47,375 at 11:19 am. Whereas, silver was at 67944.00.
