Lisa Banes, who featured in movies like Gone Girl and Cocktail, was critically hurt in a hit-and-run crash and has been hospitalized after the accident.
The actor was in a critical condition after being struck by a motorized scooter near Lincoln Center in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. According to Banes’ manager David Williams, the incident took place on her way to visit her alma mater, Julliard School. The manager also informed that the actor is being treated at Mount Sinai Morningside hospital for “substantial injuries.”
According to the New York Police Department, the 911-emergency call was received at around 06:30 PM which reported a motor vehicle collision that involved a pedestrian at the intersection of West 64 Street and Amsterdam Avenue. Statements issued by the police department stated that the 65-year-old pedestrian was lying on the roadway with a serious head injury when the officers arrived at the scene, and EMS had transported the actor to Mount Sinai Saint Luke’s Hospital, where she continues to remain in critical condition. The NYPD statement also says that the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.
However, a representative for Banes stated that the driver of the motorcycle ran a red light while hitting the actor, which indicates that Banes had the right of way while crossing the road. The representative also confirmed that Banes is indeed in critical condition, and is unable to provide any specifics regarding the incident.
