Several women have come forward with allegations of sexual assault against celebrated fantasy author Neil Gaiman. The allegations were detailed in a January 13 report by Vulture, with one of the women, Scarlett Pavlovich, speaking publicly about an alleged incident that occurred while she was babysitting for Gaiman and his ex-wife, Amanda Palmer, at their home in New Zealand.
Pavlovich claimed that during her time alone with Gaiman, the author suggested that she take a bath. She alleged that Gaiman joined her in the bathtub, naked, and assaulted her, despite her protests. Pavlovich also claimed that Gaiman demanded she call him “master” and referred to her as “good girl” during the encounter. She further alleged that Gaiman’s son began calling her “slave” and similarly ordered her to call him “master.”
The accusations are part of a broader pattern of allegations that were first brought to light in July 2023, when the Master podcast released episodes detailing accusations from multiple women. Gaiman has denied all allegations, and while he was involved in several TV adaptations of his works, including Good Omens, he stepped back from the production of the show’s third season amid the controversy.
Gaiman’s legal team and supporters have yet to comment further on the new allegations, as the situation continues to develop.
