Google Pay dragged in HC for accessing Aadhaar data of citizens

A PIL is sent in the Delhi High Court accusing Google Pay for unauthorisedly accessing, using and storing Aadhaar ad banking information of citizens which violates various statutory norms. Mishra, a financial economist, claimed that G Pay was accessing Aadhaar data and infringing the Aadhaar Act of 2016, Payments and Settlement Systems Act 2007 and Banking Regulations Act 1949. He firmly stated this behaviour as a violation of fundamental right of privacy. The case will be heard by judges Vibhu Bhakru and Prateek Jalan on January 14, 2021.
