Government approves Rs 3500 crore subsidy for sugarcane farmers

The Cabinet has given a green signal for a subsidy worth Rs. 3500 for the sugarcane farmers within India as reported by Union Minister Prakash Javadekar. Five crore sugarcane producers will receive the subsidy directly into their bank accounts. He also mentioned that 60 lakh tonnes of sugar will get exported from India. The Cabinet has also revised the costs for intrastate transmission and distribution of six states under North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project.
