Govt updates rules for taxi services like Uber, Ola who have surged prices

The Ministry of Road and Transport highways of India has issued new guidelines for cab services like Ola and Uber under the Motor Vehicles Act, 2019 on 26th of November. Some guidelines are: The cancellation fee will be 10% of the total fare and will not exceed Rs.100 for neither the driver nor the passenger, fare will be divided as 80% for the driver and 20% for the aggregator, Surge price will be 1.5 times the base price, the WPI of 2020 will be the base fare charged.
