Who is Cosmo the Spacedog?
The newest Guardian of the Galaxy, Cosmo the Spacedog, was officially presented to viewers in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special as a canine with telepathic abilities. Cosmo was introduced in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film as the Collector’s possession before making a brief appearance in the post-credits of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 before to the Christmas Special.
Authors Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning introduced Cosmo the Spacedog into the Guardians of the Galaxy comics in 2008. Cosmo the Spacedog is the security director of Knowhere and a Guardian in comic books. Cosmo’s genesis tale describes how a dog was launched into space as a test object and then floated across space before coming to rest on Knowhere.
In Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Maria Bakalova provides Cosmo the Spacedog’s voice. In addition to her performance in Borat 2, the Bulgarian actor is well-known for providing Cosmo the Spacedog’s original voice in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
