Choreographer Gulnaaz has stepped forward with a firm response after her name began circulating in rumours related to the sudden postponement of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding. While the ceremony was put on hold due to health issues in Smriti’s family, social media quickly erupted with unfounded allegations involving Gulnaaz and fellow choreographer Nandika Dwivedi prompting her to issue a strong clarification.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Gulnaaz directly addressed the speculation, writing that she had “been noticing a lot of speculation and false claims” linking her and Nandika to the situation. She emphasised that the rumours were entirely baseless, stating, “We are not the people involved in this issue.”
She further urged the public to stop reading into casual social interactions, adding, “Just because we know someone socially or have a photo with them doesn’t mean we are connected to their personal matters. Please let’s keep things respectful and not jump to conclusions.”
Her message comes amid growing chatter following the cancelled ceremony, which was halted after Smriti’s father suffered heart attack-like symptoms and was rushed to a Sangli hospital. As misinformation spread online, Gulnaaz’s statement has been one of the strongest efforts to correct the narrative and bring focus back to the facts rather than speculation.
