Has Max Canceled Season 3 Of Pretty Little Liars Reboot Starring Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney?

The Pretty Little Liars reboot, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin—which was later rebranded as PLL: Summer School for its second season—has officially been canceled by MAX after just two seasons.

For fans of the Pretty Little Liars universe, this news might come as a disappointment, especially since the original series still holds a strong nostalgic pull, with many revisiting it years after its finale. The reboot, which debuted in 2022, attempted to bring a fresh, horror-infused twist to the franchise, featuring a talented ensemble cast that included Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Mallory Bechtel, and Zaria, alongside other notable names like Lea Salonga and Annabeth Gish.

While MAX has not provided an official reason for the cancellation, industry insiders speculate that the show’s viewership numbers may not have met the platform’s expectations. Despite its dedicated fanbase, PLL: Summer School may not have drawn enough engagement to justify a third season.

In a statement shared by The Wrap, MAX expressed appreciation for the show’s co-creators, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, as well as the cast and crew. The streamer praised the team’s unique creative direction, saying:

“Their unique and modern creative vision — combined with the immense talent of our cast and crew — gave the series a fun, horror-filled point of view that paid tribute to its original Rosewood roots.”

Though the series may have reached its final chapter, fans can still revisit the twisted mysteries of PLL: Original Sin on MAX.
