Hector Bellerin sought out by Atletico Madrid and Real Betis

Real Betis are targeting Hector Bellerin but might have to outbid Atletico Madrid’s offer

Hector Bellerin of Arsenal has been placed on the club’s transfer list as they look to sell the Spaniard this summer. Spanish club Real Betis were the first to show interest in the player but La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have reportedly also joined the race to sign Bellerin.

According to reports, Real Betis would like to have Bellerin on a loan with an option to buy. Bellerin also prefers the Andalusian club as a permanent home. The player has reportedly rejected offers from several English clubs “due to love” for Arsenal. Bellerin joined Arsenal at the age of 16 from the Barcelona youth academy and has spent 10 years at the club.

Betis will find it difficult to match Atletico’s offer especially in a cash strapped coronavirus impacted market but will have to dig their coffers if they are to land the services of the pacy fullback. Atletico has tried to sweeten the deal for Arsenal by offering their right-back Kieran Trippier in a swap deal. Trippier previously played for Arsenal’s fierce North London rivals – Tottenham Hotspur.

Additionally, Diego Simeone has contacted Bellerin to inform the right-back about his interest and his perceived role in the Atletico team. Arsenal and Atletico enjoy a good relationship and could come to an agreement by taking advantage of this relationship.

Hector Bellerin has scored 9 goals and racked up 29 assists in 239 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.
