Here’s how Kareena & Karishma were “single-handedly” brought up by Babita

Kareena and Karishma Kapoor were single-handedly brought up by their mother, Babita without receiving any financial aid from the Kapoor family.

Kareena and Karishma children to Randhir Kapoor and Babita, were single-handedly brought up by their mother, Babita.

In an interview in 2007, Kareena opened up about her close relationship with her mother and sister and added that when they were growing up they never really saw their father much. However, Babita has been a strong influence in their lives and before Karishma’s entry into the industry, Babita was financially supporting the family by way of her real estate business in addition to other smaller businesses that she owned.

Kareena also denied having received any financial aid from the Kapoor Family.  Remembering the old days, she said that the initial years had been tough on them but after Karishma set foot in the industry things started looking up and soon after Kareena commenced her career as an actress too.

Randhir and Babita got married in 1971 and split in 1988, however they never legally got a divorce instead they only lived separately which is why Randhir never played an active role in the initial years of his daughters lives.

As for now, the family meets on several occasions and Randhir has also sold his ancestral home in Chembur to move into a house closer to his daughter, Kareena and wife, Babita, who reside in Mumbai. As for Karishma, she shuffles between Delhi and Mumbai on several occasions.
