The inspirational remarks Madonna gave to Kim Petras before her historic performance at the Grammy Awards in February have been made public by singer-songwriter Kim Petras.
According to “People” magazine, Madonna introduced Petras and Sam Smith at the awards ceremony as they performed their wonderfully sinister single, “Unholy.” “I felt so anxious. According to Petras, 30, whose major-label first album, Feed the Beast, comes out on Friday, “I was freaking out.”
“When she finished speaking, she turned around and mouthed to me, ‘Go get it, bitch.'” I felt like I could handle this after that. It was an honour for me to present Sam Smith and Kim Petras at the Grammys, Madonna said on Instagram after the show, according to “People.” She also explained why she felt it was vital to support the couple. I was going to present the album of the year award, but I decided it was more significant to present the first transgender lady who had ever performed at the Grammys. And on top of that she got a Grammy!!”
In fact, Petras and Smith made history by being the first openly trans and non-binary artists to win the award for best pop duo/group performance for their work on “Unholy.” Later this year, Petras will begin her Feed the Beast Global Tour, and she has always been motivated by inspiration Madonna.
