Zainab Nasrallah, daughter of Hezbollah secretary general Hassan Nasrallah, is believed to have been killed in a massive Israeli airstrike on southern Beirut, according to a report by Channel 12. However, neither Israel nor Lebanon has officially confirmed her death.
Zainab, known for her vocal support of Hezbollah and its causes, had previously spoken publicly about her family’s sacrifices, including the loss of her brother, who was killed by Israeli forces in 1997. She emphasized that her family chose to honour his sacrifice rather than mourn his death.
The airstrike, which targeted Hezbollah strongholds, was reportedly an attempt to kill Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies. The war, which had been concentrated around Gaza, is now spreading towards Lebanon.
The powerful strike flattened multiple buildings, leaving areas in southern Beirut engulfed in smoke and fires. Thousands of Lebanese civilians have been displaced, seeking refuge in parks and sidewalks. Despite speculation that Hassan Nasrallah was also killed in the attack, a Hezbollah spokesperson has confirmed that he remains unharmed.
This attack is one of the most severe by Israel in Lebanon since the war began, intensifying the already volatile situation in the region.
