Hina Khan, one of television’s most recognised faces, has credited her debut show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for laying the foundation of both her stardom and financial stability. The actor, who became a household name after portraying Akshara Singhania, recently reflected on her career in a conversation with Elvish Yadav, where she spoke candidly about the impact of the long-running daily soap on her life.
During the interaction, Hina was asked to compare her earnings from shows produced by Rajan Shahi and Ektaa Kapoor. Responding honestly, she explained that while she worked on Naagin for a brief period and played Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay for about six to seven months, the scale of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was unmatched. According to her, the show remains her highest-earning project, largely because she was associated with it for nearly eight years.
Hina further shared that a major portion of her wealth today can be traced back to her long stint on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Although she continued to take on new projects after leaving the show, she acknowledged that the financial and professional base created during those eight years played a decisive role in her journey.
After exiting the show, Hina expanded her television presence through reality shows like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss 11, where she finished as the first runner-up in both. In 2018, she returned to daily soaps with Kasautii Zindagii Kay, earning praise for her bold portrayal of the iconic negative character Komolika.
