HMS Queen Elizabeth to enter Indo-Pacific waters in 2021

The UK government is sending its largest warship “HMS Queen Elizabeth” and its strike task group to the Indian Ocean in the first half of the next year. This decision comes after China’s growing interest in the Indo-Pacific in Europe. “The deployment is a sign of the UK’s commitment towards regional security,” said an official spokesperson in a statement released. HMS Queen Elizabeth is 65,000 tonnes and carries up to 40 aircraft’s, it was commissioned in 2017 but will officially step foot in international waters in 2021.
