Howrah police caught an online gaming fraud racket; total 9 arrested

Nine scammers were taken into custody by the investigative department of the Howrah City Police for operating an online gaming fraud ring and stealing lakhs of rupees over the course of several months.

People are losing their hard-earned money as a result of falling for the promises of enormous riches made by online gaming websites. A Howrah police official stated, “Our DD team carried out a special operation based on information and arrested nine—all of them from outside Bengal—at a flat in the Belur PS area.”

A rental agreement, an electric bill, a router, two laptops, twenty-two cell phones, and Rs 10,410 in cash were confiscated. The accused operated multiple phoney online gambling websites and a phoney call centre, according to the results of preliminary interrogation.
