Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, the power couple of Bollywood, fell in love after working in a few movies together. They tied the knot at the Bachchan residence in Mumbai back on April 20, 2007, in a private ceremony. They have a 9-year-old daughter Aaradhya.
Speaking about her marriage proposal Aishwarya had opened up in an old interview. In a conversation with Filmfare, Aishwarya said how Abhishek has popped the important questions on the sets of the movie Jodha Akbar. The actress further revealed that she was already dressed like a bride when Abhishek proposed to her. She was surrounded by the film director Ashutosh Gowariker and co-star Hrithik Roshan. She said, “We’re doing Khawja mere Khwaja, sitting as a bride, and I am like, oh my God this is surreal, all happening on-screen, off-screen, this is bizarre.”
The actress talked about how people reacted to the news of her engagement. Aishwarya said, “Ashutosh is like you are engaged and I am like yeah.” She also shared that Hrithik, being present on the set at the time of the proposal gave her a thumbs-up as he witnessed the spectacular surprise.
On the work front, Aishwarya Rai will next be seen in a Tamil historical drama film titled Ponniyin Selvan. Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan has a movie “Atrangi re” scheduled to release in August.
