Hrithik Roshan reviews Dhurandhar; applauds Aditya Dhar’s storytelling despite political differences

Hrithik Roshan is the latest Bollywood star to appreciate Dhurandhar, the Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna-starrer that has been creating strong conversations online. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has received praise from several celebrities, and Hrithik has now added his name to the list with a thoughtful, nuanced take.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Hrithik shared a poster of Dhurandhar along with a heartfelt note about his viewing experience. He began by expressing admiration for filmmakers who surrender themselves to a story and allow the narrative to guide them. “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control… Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema,” he wrote.

While appreciating the film’s visual and narrative language, Hrithik also addressed its political undertones. He admitted he does not agree with the politics of the film, emphasising that filmmakers, including himself, carry certain responsibilities as public figures. Despite this, he said the film served as a rich learning experience from a craft perspective.

“I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how much I loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema,” the actor added. Hrithik’s balanced reaction praising the cinematic craft while acknowledging ideological differences resonated with fans, further fueling discussions around the film and its themes.
