The Maharashtra Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations for the year 2021 has been cancelled, followed by class 12 board examinations which were to be held in Uttar Pradesh were also cancelled by Uttar Pradesh Government. The UP (Uttar Pradesh) Government took the mentioned decision two days after the Centre decided to cancel Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 board exams for the year 2021.
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and along with other state Boards like Gujarat Secondary and Higher Education Board (GSEB), Madhya Pradesh (MP Board), Uttarakhand, Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE), and Goa have also concluded their decisions on state board examinations by cancelling them, following the CBSE decision. The criteria for class 12 evaluation shall be announced soon by the CBSE.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 has announced to begin its application window soon which was earlier scheduled for the month of August according to the its official website. The new dates for the two sessions of JEE mains and JEE advance are yet to be announced.
The government decision on the cancelation of class 12 board examination and directed the CBSE and CICSE to place on record well-defined objective criteria in two weeks was appreciated by the Supreme Court of India on 3rd June 2021. The Covid situation with regards to decision on conducting the remaining sessions of JEE mains 2021 and NEET mains 2021 shall be reviewed soon by the Education Ministry, as stated in a report by the Press Trust of India (Press Trust of India).
