Huawei Announces Global Launch Event on December 12 for Mate X6

In November, the Huawei Mate X6 book-style foldable smartphone featuring a 6.45-inch quad-curved OLED cover screen and a 7.93-inch interior display was released in China.

The phone’s Collector’s Edition is protected by second-generation Kunlun glass that is tempered with basalt. It probably has the newest internal Kirin 9100 CPU and a 5,110mAh battery that supports 50W wireless and 66W wired fast charging. The date of a worldwide launch event, where the foldable phone is touted to be released in markets outside of China, has now been confirmed by the company.

In an X post, Huawei revealed that on December 12, a global launch event will be held in Dubai. The post contains the hashtag “#UnfoldtheClassic,” even though the company did not specify which product or goods would be introduced at the event. This implies that on that day, a few international markets will see the release of the newly released Huawei Mate X6 book-style foldable.

A 7.93-inch (2,440×2,240 pixel) primary OLED screen and a 6.45-inch (1,080×2,440 pixel) quad-curved OLED cover display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, high-frequency PWM dimming at 1,440 Hz, and Kunlun glass protection are features of the Huawei Mate X6. The Collector’s Edition, on the other hand, features second-generation Kunlun glass protection made of tempered basalt.

It most likely has a Kirin 9100 CPU, up to 1TB of internal storage, and up to 16GB of RAM. The phone comes pre-installed with HarmonyOS 4.3. The Huawei Mate X6 has three cameras: a 48-megapixel telephoto macro camera on the back, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS capability.

Additionally, the phone has two 8-megapixel selfie camera sensors. The Collector’s Edition receives a 5,200mAh cell, whilst the Huawei Mate X6 is powered by a 5,110mAh battery. All models offer 50W wireless, 7.5W wireless, and 66W wired reverse charging.

The phone is water and dust resistant, with an IPX8 grade. In China, the 12GB + 256GB Huawei Mate X6 base model costs CNY 12,999, or about Rs. 1,50,000, while the 16GB + 512GB Collector’s Edition model costs CNY 14,999, or about Rs. 1,75,000.
