Huma Qureshi calls Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic box office clash a boost for Indian cinema

Actor Huma Qureshi believes the much-discussed box office face-off between Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic could ultimately benefit the film industry. In a recent interaction with Variety India, she shared her perspective on the simultaneous release of the two highly anticipated films.

While industry conversations have focused on whether the clash might divide audiences, Huma said she sees it differently. According to her, any situation that draws viewers to theatres is a positive sign for Indian cinema. She described the upcoming release window as an exciting time for moviegoers and added that there is enough room for multiple films to succeed together.

The actor’s remarks come after filmmaker Sanjay Gupta expressed concerns about the impact of such clashes. Reflecting on his own experience when Kaabil released alongside Raees, Gupta had said that both films might have performed even better had they not competed directly. He pointed out that many viewers may not be able to afford watching two big releases within a short span.

Despite these differing views, Huma remains optimistic. For her, the clash signals strong content and audience interest rather than conflict. With expectations high for both films, the debate has added further buzz to what is shaping up to be a significant moment at the box office.
