Ian Bishop explained why Alyssa Healy won ICC Women Player of the Month

ICC recently introduced the monthly awards for the international cricketers based on public voting for both men and women cricketers.

For the month of April, three women nominated to be the player of the month were Megah Schutt (Australia), Alyssa Healy (Australia), and Leigh Kasperek (New Zealand) as there was only one international series was played in the entire month.

She was given the ICC Women player of the month and Ian Bishop was all for it. He quoted ” Healy deserves to win as she added runs at the top consistently at a good tempo which laid the foundation for the Aussies to set big scores and chase down the totals across the three games.”

The results were based on three-match ODI series between Trans-Tasman rivals in which these players starred for their teams with bat and ball. Alyssa Healy scored 155 runs in three matches with an average of 51.66 and striking at 98.6. Alyssa finished as the top scorer of the series which helped Aussies extend their 24-year-old winning streak over their rivals.
