England pacer Jofra Archer who will be missing out on the five-Test match series against India is ready to bid it and be prepared and ready to play for England in the T20 World Cup and the Ashes ahead this year. Archer who is undergoing elbow surgery calls it a “career-defining” moment on Friday.
“One thing I am determined is about the post-elbow operation is not to rush my comeback, because my primary focus is to be playing for England in the Twenty20 World Cup and Ashes later this year.” Archer wrote in his column in the Daily Mail.
Archer precisely mentioned that if the surgery is successful and he is able to make a comeback against India in August, he will take it but if not he will be happy to sit home during the summer.
“The way I am looking at things is that I would rather miss a few weeks o, a year so that I have a few more years in my career.” Archer quoted.
England will face the Ashes in Australia in December 2021 and January 2022. Looking at their past experiences, the England side apparently knows the importance of having a furious fast bowler in their inventory. They will be looking forward to Archer to regain and make a strong comeback before the Twin main events ahead in the year.
“I just want to get this injury sorted once and for all and that’s why I’m not looking that far ahead or at dates for a return to action,” he wrote. “Because if I don’t get this right, I won’t play any cricket. Period.” Archer Stated.
However, Jofra Archer has confirmed that the bandages are off but the injury is still fresh and needs some time to settle down. He also mentioned that he has been resentful after the entire medical procedure.
