Ikea, the furniture retail company affirmed that they are set to initiate to deliver their wide range of furniture solution in Bengaluru.
The company initially opened its retail outlet in Hyderabad in the year 2018. Successively, in 2019 it launched its online stores in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune. On 18th December 2020 they established their second retail store in Navi Mumbai.
The company provides products that ranges across several categories like furniture, beds, mattresses, storage and organizations. It also provides a wide range of textiles, home decorations, bathrooms and outdoor products, kitchenware and appliances, lightings, laundry and cleaning items.
The company, on June 5, 2021, declared the launch of their mobile application and e-commerce websites in three cities of Gujarat namely, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara. Customers in these cities can avail their products through the apps or online. Consumers can choose their favorable items from 8,000 products.
As per reports, Ikea has invested around Rs 4,500 crore in Hyderabad from its Rs 10,500 committed investments. The company further invested Rs 2,000 crore in Karnataka to unlock four stores in Bengaluru.
In an interview to Mint Peter Betzel, Chief executive officer and Chief sustainability officer Ikea India informed that Bengaluru is on the forefront. He further stated that it is the city with the highest share of online home furnishings.
Furthermore, the company revealed that Ikea’s online presence in the city set forth a ‘new retail direction’ for the retailers along with new touchpoints and services, concentrating on digital and physical formats with an omnichannel approach.
