The Uttar Pradesh Government has allotted 12.3-acre land to INGKA Centres, which owns most of the IKEA store malls across Europe for its venture for Rs 850 crore. The company plans to invest $759 million in the project.
CM Yogi Adityanath attended the event virtually from Lucknow as the land was transferred by the Noida Authority. The company has also paid Rs 56 crore as stamp duty to the government of India.
The decision comes after the success of its two existing stores in India, Hyderabad(2018), and Mumbai(2020). The Mumbai store will have a 1000 seater restaurant serving Indian and Swedish cuisines.
