Dharmendra is scheduled to make his big-screen comeback two weeks after a major health crisis. On Monday morning, the producers revealed the veteran actor’s first appearance as his character from his next movie, Ikkis. Dharmendra plays Agastya Nanda’s father in the movie.
The post called the 89-year-old a “timeless legend” and included a poster of him. In Sriram Raghavan’s film, the actor plays M L Khetarpal, while Agstya portrays Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. The poster was posted on social media by the production company supporting the movie, Maddock Films.
Dharmendra’s voice can also be heard in the post discussing his “bada beta,” or older son, who will always be 21. Fans were moved by the actor’s appearance and poster. At the age of 21, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal was killed in battle during the 1971 Indo-Pak War’s Battle of Basantar. At the time, he was the youngest recipient of India’s highest military honor when he received the Param Vir Chakra posthumously.
Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher play important parts in Ikkis. Following a health crisis earlier this month, Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital; some rumors even claimed his death. On November 10, his wife, actor Hema Malini, refuted the report of his passing. Later that week, the actor was finally released from the hospital.
