Actor Imran Khan is gearing up for a brief but much-discussed return to the big screen with a cameo in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, marking his first theatrical appearance in nearly ten years. While the role is small, the actor has revealed that his decision to join the project stemmed from a very relatable reason, fear of missing out.
Speaking to NDTV, Imran shared that he became interested in the film while hearing about it through friends who were gradually getting involved. The project, led by Vir Das, already had his uncle Aamir Khan attached as a producer, and updates about the film kept reaching him informally. His curiosity grew further when actor Mithila Palkar, whom he has remained friends with since Katti Batti, spoke enthusiastically about how the film was shaping up.
Imran said he reached out to Vir directly, admitting that he joined the film simply because it felt like a fun space where many of his close friends were collaborating. According to him, the energy surrounding the project made it difficult to stay away.
Earlier, Vir Das had shared a screenshot of his chat with Imran on social media, expressing excitement over the actor agreeing to be part of the film. The post confirmed that audiences will get to see Imran on screen again when the film releases on January 16.
Imran Khan made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, which became a massive success and established him as a leading actor. However, after a series of underperforming films, he stepped away from acting following Katti Batti in 2015. His return, even in a cameo, has sparked excitement among fans eager to see him back.
