India confirms a technical recession after GDP contracts 7.5%

According to the official Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data released today (November 28) for the second quarter(Q2) by National Statistical office(NSO), revealed that the Indian economy has contracted in two consecutive quarters called the technical recession for the first time since 1996. In the july-september quarter of FY20-21, the GDP has contracted to 7.5 percent.
