India may get AstraZeneca Vaccine by Jan-Feb at reduced price

Oxford developed, two dose vaccine AstraZeneca will be made available for purchase and emergency use by early January-February. The AstraZeneca vaccine is still undergoing approval for emergency use in the United Kingdom. Once approved, India will send it in the Serum Institute of India (SII). However, till then the centre is in talks with manufacturers for finalising the contract for the vaccine doses. The government is going to make bulk purchases so it is likely that the price of the vaccine costing Rs.500-600 will be reduced by almost 50%.
