India neutralized 1,000 missiles and drones launched by Pakistan on May 9: PM Modi

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Indian military had effectively stopped a significant cross-border attack by destroying 1,000 missiles and drones that Pakistan had fired on May 9 as part of Operation Sindoor.

“Pakistani drones and missiles were destroyed by our air defence systems. Pakistan attacked India on May 9 with 1,000 drones and missiles. During a two-day debate on the Pahalgam terror incident on April 22 and Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Lok Sabha and stated, “But all of them were destroyed in the air.”

The Prime Minister said that India carried out precision strikes on terror targets within Pakistan and commended the Armed Forces for their prompt response. “We exacted revenge for the Pahalgam incident on April 22 by destroying terrorist installations located deep within Pakistan in just 22 minutes.”

“The masterminds of the attack are having a hard time sleeping, and the Pakistani airbases that India hit are still in intensive care units,” he said. “No nation made an effort to stop India from defending itself against terrorism”, PM Modi said. At the UN, only three nations voiced support for Pakistan. The globe came together to support India,” he remarked.

But he was disappointed that India’s biggest opposition party, the Congress party, “targeted me for political gains” rather than “supporting the valour of our soldiers.” He claimed that the “frivolous statements” made by Congress ran the risk of depressing Indian soldiers’ morale.
