India tour of England: Virat, Mithali and the company departed for UK with their families

India’s men’s and women’s cricket teams took off for England on 2nd June with their families. Both men’s and women’s teams were flying in the same chartered plane. Permission has been obtained from England; However, no BCCI official will travel to London due to the segregation rules for the Test World Cup final. This information was given by a BCCI official. After reaching the UK, they will have to quarantine themselves in a hotel and have to do a regular test to move ahead for training and practice sessions.

Virat Kohli’s tour of England is four months long. The BCCI had requested the England board that the players would have to stay within the biosecurity framework during this period so that their lives would be comfortable if the family was with them. The demand was accepted, so Virat and company will leave for London with their families tomorrow. The same criteria were applied to women cricketers going to England along with Virat’s team. Persistence in the bio-secure shell affects the psyche.

“It is forbidden to go out anywhere. If the family is with them at such times, the players can get a home-like atmosphere, so it will benefit the players. The support staff along with the players are also allowed to take the family,” a BCCI official said.

BCCI president Saurabh Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah were scheduled to travel to London for the Test final between June 18th and 22nd (23: Reserved Day), but they will not be able to travel to London due to the 10-day separation condition and the two are currently preparing for the IPL in Dubai. So no BCCI official will be present for this prestigious final.

The women’s team, led by Mithali Raj, will play its only Test against England from June 16 to 19. This is followed by ODI and Twenty20 series. This England tour is important for both men’s and women’s teams.
