Indian government to buy 5 crore doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine

The Indian government is expected to sign a major deal with Serum Institute of India for 5 crore doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19. The Indian government may approve the vaccine in the next few days after UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency also cleared the Serum institute vaccine.

AstraZeneca – a British-Swedish drug-maker and the University of Oxford has co-developed the vaccination which will be manufactured by the Serum Institute in India. Prime Minister is expected to announce the good news very soon.
