Indian teenager Shubho Paul selected in Bayern Munich’s World squad

Shubho Paul, a 17-year old Indian striker who hails from the Howrah district of West Bengal have been selected by Bayern Munich for their World squad. He was picked up by Bayern via a talent hunt program launched by the club to select 15 footballers from across the world and form a World squad, this talent hunt was led by Bayern Munich legend and World Cup winner, Klaus Augenthaler and Bayern’s coach of the international program, Christopher Loch.

The players who were participating in this program should have been born between 2003 and 2004 and they were asked to send their shot videos as well. Paul will now be travelling to Germany where he will be training for two weeks and will be playing with another youth squads from Bundesliga.

Paul was part of the Under 17 Indian squad and has been playing for Sudeva FC, the recently promoted club that now plays in the I league, he started with the U-13 squad and now he is the captain of their senior I league squad. Paul emerged in the circuit after he netted 58 goals in only 14 games in the U-13 I league. He recently played in the 2020-21 I league season for the senior squad and scored 2 goals in eight games.
