The fresh cases of covid-19 in the country sees the lowest rise counting since 6 April, as claimed by the data released by Union Health Ministry.
However, with the consistent testing of samples, in the last 24 hours as many as 1,14,460 people tested positive, marking the country’s overall cases at 2,88,09,339. The positivity rate dips down to 5.42% along with the weekly positivity rate standing at 6.54%.
Additionally, the mortalities also sees nearly 43-day low as recorded in the last 24 hours with 2,677 losing lives marking the low numbers of mortality since April 22. With this the death toll records standing at 3,46,759.
Recovery in the country continue to surpass the fresh cases with 1,89,232 discharges made between Saturday and Sunday. Taking the overall discharges at 2,69,84,781 with the current recovery rate standing at 93.67% positively.
Overall the total number of cases seem to decline below 14 lakh mark, standing currently at 14,77,799. Recording 77,449 drop in the last 24 hours.
Samples tested until now
According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India has tested 36,47,46,522 samples till now, out of which 20,36,311 samples were tested on 5 June, Friday.
Vaccination done so far
As stated by Health Ministry, India achieves a breakthrough in vaccinating its population, with 23 crore mark on Saturday.
States administering more than 10 lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years for the first dose of vaccination are Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu.
