India’s online market share increases by 26%

During the lock-down, OTT platform presence increased in India by 26% and is expected to generate a revenue of $4.5 billion between 2020 to 2025. According to the MPA’s report, in 2020 India generated the revenue of $1.4 billion in online video industry. The top contributor were:

  • YouTube: 43%
  • Disney+ Hotstar:16%
  • Netflix:14%
  • Amazon Prime Video: 7%
  • Facebook: 5%
