India’s vaccination drive jumped 4x with PM Modi’s jab

India’s COVID-19 vaccination drive has jumped up to 4 times as the vaccinations were available for more people. World’s biggest vaccination drive accelerated after PM Narendra Modi got vaccinated.

After an initial tepid reaction due to partially questionable approval of the Bharat Biotech vaccine before it had finished clinical preliminaries, the vaccination drive was up to speed after PM Narendra Modi took the shot on March 1. He also urged the citizens of the country to do so.

India has also opened the vaccination process to citizens above 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with co-morbidities.

Nearly 21 million vaccination doses have been given in India, more than 5.4 million as compared to the previous month.
