IndiGo passenger hits pilot during flight delay announcement, video go viral

An unsettling incident occurred on Sunday when a passenger on an IndiGo Airlines flight attacked the pilot while he was announcing the flight’s delay. On Monday, a video of the incident on the Delhi to Goa plane went viral on social media. It shows the pilot being slapped by an angry passenger who is wearing a yellow hoodie.

“If you don’t want to fly the plane, then don’t,” the passenger is heard telling the pilot as the air hostesses attempt to keep him at a away. One of the flight attendants responded, saying, “sir, you cannot do this.” At the end of the video, a man in a blue hoodie can be seen attempting to calm the man down as the other passengers seem shocked and upset.

The video was first posted on Sunday night on an Instagram story by user Evgenia Belskaia.

As stated by the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) DCP, the passenger was detained after IndiGo Airlines lodged a complaint against him. The DCP further assured to take the necessary legal action against the accused.

The incident occurred amid significant disruptions in airline operations across North and Central India because of bad weather and dense fog conditions. On Sunday, thick fog in the national capital lasted over 11 hours, keeping thousands of passengers waiting for hours.
