Inter Milan signs Simone Inzaghi as a replacement for Antonio Conte

Serie A champions Inter Milan has signed former Lazio boss and Italy international Simone Inzaghi as manager on a two-year contract after Antonio Conte parted his ways with Inter Milan.

Simone Inzaghi has been at Lazio since joining as a player in 1999 and after his retirement as a player, he has joined the youth team and later he became the manager of the senior club in 2016.

Simone has lots of experience as a coach, as he has guided Lazio to the Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cup successes, as well as leading them to the round of 16 in their first Champions League campaign in 13 years this past season. Inzaghi stepped down as Lazio manager after 22 years at the club.

Simone is the brother of Star forward Filippo Inzaghi who helped AC Milan and Juventus to win all domestic Italian titles as well as winning UEFA Champions League twice. He also helped Italy national team to win the FIFA World Cup in 2006.

Antonio Conte left the club last month after leading his side to its first Serie A title in more than a decade. He parted ways with the club on mutual consent but he was unhappy about the club’s decision to sell players in the upcoming transfer window because of financial constraints.

Inter Milan is dealing with some financial problems that made them sell some players.

Inter Milan did sign some big names like Romelu Lukaku, Christian Erikson, and Achraf Hakimi when Conte took command of the club, and his move to sign them brought great success for the club.

Now Inzaghi has to carry from where Antonio has left the club.
