IPL 2021: Ashish Nehra makes a big statement, says, Siraj is is more skillful than Bumrah

Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the most significant gifts to Indian cricket in recent years. Bumrah has emerged as one of the best fast bowlers in the world, becoming the country’s fastest pacer to 50 Test wickets and the third Indian bowler to claim a Test hat-trick after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan.

While most cricket experts believe there is no match for Bumrah’s talent right now, former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra believes that there is another Indian fast bowler, who is even better than him.

“There was talk about a couple of years ago that he used to pick up 5-6 wickets in every match for India A with the red ball… (now he) is a very good all-format bowler. There is no shortage skill, he has all type of variations. I would in fact say that skill wise, he is even ahead of Bumrah, if you talk of variations,” Nehra said.

“He has a different slower one, there is no lack of speed, he can move the new ball. He needs to keep his fitness and sharpen his mind. If he can do these two things well, sky is the limit,” Nehra added.

Siraj has played as RCB’s strike pace bowler in IPL 2021, sharing new ball duties with Kyle Jamieson. He is the first bowler this season to reach 50 dot balls.
