After many players from different teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been tested positive for C, matches have been postponed till further notice. After this decision of BCCI, the Australian Cricket Board supported the decision and also wishes for the wellbeing of all participants.
Cricket Australia tweeted the joint statement of Cricket Australia and Australian Cricketers’ Association, “Cricket Australia and the @ACA_Players understand the decision of the BCCI to indefinitely postpone the 2021 Indian Premier League for the safety and wellbeing of all participants.”
In the statement, it had been written, “Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association understand the decision of the BCCI to indefinitely postpone the 2021 Indian Premier League for the safety and well being of all participants.
CA is in direct contact with the BCCI as they work through plans to ensure the safe accommodation and repatriation of Australian players, coaches, match officials, and commentators back home to Australia.
CA and the ACA respect the decision of the Australian Government to pause travel from India until at least May 15 and will not seek exemptions.
CA and the ACA thank the BCCI for their efforts and cooperation for the safe repatriation of all participants at the IPL.”

Before the match against Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s wicketkeeper and batsman Wriddhiman Saha and also Delhi Capitals’ spin bowler Amit Mishra have tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
After this BCCI’s vice-president, Rajeev Shukla confirmed to ANI that this season hasn’t been canceled it has been postponed till further notification. He said, “IPL has been suspended, we will see whether we can reschedule it, it is not canceled. It is just suspended for now.”
