In the very first over of the match between the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, Dhawan got benefit of the doubt of the Third Umpire on the sensational catch by Hardik Pandya at short cover. Was Shikhar Dhawan out?
On the 6th ball of the 1st over, Dhawan was too early into the flick, the ball hold up in the pitch and he got a leading edge that pop in the air. The ball seemed to be landing safe but Hardik flew forward and just about got fingertips to the ball. Hardik’s at full stretch airborne, and has got it at the end of his fingers.

But, the question raised that the ball was grounded or not. The third umpire was having several looks, and Dhawan got the benefitted of the doubt. Meanwhile, Hardik was in no doubt as he started celebrating immediately, but none of the angles look conclusive enough. But the ball might have touched the ground while he was falling forward. This was tricky to judge with 2D television replays. The third umpire says not out. And Dhawan is safe.
See the reaction of the Fan-
