Devdutt Padikkal, the Royal Challenger Bangalore opener who had returned to action after recovering from COVID-19, had gotten off to a shaky start this season scoring 25 and 11 in his previous two innings.
But he scored an amazing knock of 101 runs in 51 balls and he beat the previous record of the fastest 100 by an uncapped player, which was previously holded by Paul Valthaty who scored a 100 in 52 balls (KXIP Vs CSK) in 2011.
His inning helped the Bangalore side to an easy win by 10 wickets against the Rajasthan Royal side. Virat Kohli also played a crucial part of 72 runs and they both scored a total of 173 runs which is the 5th highest score by an opening partnership.
Royal Challenger Bangalore are set to play their next game against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
