The Indian members of the Punjab Kings squad have all returned home safely after the suspension of the IPL, according to the franchise on Sunday.
“Following the suspension of the IPL 2021, all PBKS team members have safely returned home, though a few are quarantining outside India before returning to their respective countries,” the club said in a tweet.
“We would like to thank BCCI, other IPL franchises, and our airline partner GoAir for their cooperation,” the tweet added.
To combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the club encouraged its fans to “wear masks, obey social distancing norms, and hygiene protocols.”
“We’re all in this together. Keep yourself healthy!” On May 4, the IPL was suspended after several COVID-19 cases were registered in its bubble.
The world is experiencing a crippling second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 4 lakh new cases and over 4000 deaths recorded every day.
