In the 15th match of the Vivo IPL 2021, Faf du Plessis played a start to finish knock of 95 not out in just 60 balls with 9 fours and six maximum against Kolkata Knight Riders. Even after KKR won the toss it was CSK who dominated the bowling side completely.
CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis charged KKR Bowlers since the start. They gave CSK a strong start in the powerplay scoring 54 runs off it. Both the batters constructed a massive partnership of 115 runs for the first wicket.
Although, du Plessis was struck with a nasty blow by Pat Cummings and struggled a bit in the mid overs but got the pace later in the game. He delivered two massive sixes to Pat Cummings in the last over.
With this explosive inning, Faf not only helped CSK reach a huge total of 220 but also promoted himself to the fourth spot in the race for Orange cap. Faf du Plessis has now a total of 164 runs in 4 matches.
