On Monday, May 03, the IPL faced a severe crisis when KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were tested COVID-19 positive a day before facing RCB at Ahemdabad. Later, three of CSK’s members were found positive as well, this took a complete U-turn with a big question mark on whether the IPL should continue or not.

South Africa’s Cricket Board Director, Graeme Smith showed his concern with the ongoing situation with COVID-19 in India. Smith also mentioned that the board is always ready to help but it’s completely the player’s choice whether to continue playing or to make an exit from the IPL and return home.

“We’ve offered support to the players and made ourselves available to them should there be any concerns,” said Graeme Smith, South Africa Director of Cricket.
